Singapore is officially known as the Republic of Singapore and is one of the four Asian Tigers in the economic world. It is a Southeast Asian city, located 137km. north of the Equator.
Therefore, the weather in Singapore is equatorial, occasionally dry and humid and with sufficient rainfall. It is at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, separated from Malaysia by the Straits of Johor on the North. On the south it has the Riau Islands of Indonesia separating it from the Singapore Straits.
This beautiful island was inhabited in the early 2nd Century AD, and has since then undergone a lot of historic movements. It had a challenging colonial past and then gained independence in 1963. There are many interesting Singapore facts tourists get to discover during their Singapore travel. For instance the national flower of Singapore is the Vanda Miss Joaquim. It is a natural hybrid between V. teres and V. hookeriana. Another interesting fact is that Singapore is made up of one main island but has 63 other tiny islands. Sentosa Island
The cultural attractions in Singapore make it a very exciting tourist stop in Southeast Asia. For those who want to travel Singapore, Sentosa (meaning Peace and Tranquility) is the best place to be while visiting the Malay Peninsula. It is a popular island resort in Singapore, and visited by at least 5 million people per year.
While on Sentosa Island, tour Fort Siloso and make use of the two golf courses, five star hotels and a theme park which entertain tourists from all over the world.
Marina Bay Sands Resort
Located along the Marina Bay waterfront, Marina Bay Sands Resort is the latest addition to the Singapore skyline. It features three cascading hotel towers topped by an extraordinary sky park, ‘floating’ crystal pavilions, a lotus-inspired museum, trendy restaurants, endless entertainment at the theaters, the hottest night clubs and a Las Vegas-style casino.
Singapore Night Safari
Another equally recommended tourist attraction is the Night Safari. Here people get to see the best of the animal kingdom and other attractions to keep the excitement and adrenaline rush constant. Similarly the Jurong Bird Park is a thrilling experience for Singapore tourism with varieties of birds. Here there are attractions not just for grownups but for children as well. The National Museum of Singapore, located on Stamford Road, is where you can get a glimpse of Singapore history dating from the 14th century to the 1950s.
The Tiger Sky Tower is also an important tourist attraction from where Indonesia and Malaysia are visible. It is the tallest sightseeing spot and most visited by tourists.
